Constellation Mapping

Patterns aren’t just one thing. They are made of multiple points, experiences, tendencies, reactions, all interacting with each other. Instead of breaking this into steps, we’re going to map it.

Step 1: Place Your Points

Prompt: Think about your current experience.

What are the key points present right now?

You might include a feeling, a thought, a situation, a behavior, a relationship dynamic

Instruction:
– Add stars for what feels supportive
– Add spirals for what feels like it wants to shift
(In a simple version, this could just be text lists for now)

Step 2: See the Connections

Instruction:
– Draw lines (or mentally note) the connections
– Categorize the points in your constellation by energy, signal, or balance.
– Is this about how things are moving?
– Is this about energy being off?
– Is this about something triggering or informing the pattern?

(You don’t need to overthink it, just a quick sort. You’re not isolating the problem. You’re seeing the system.)

Two Types of Points

⭐️ Stars

Stable or supportive points.

These are things that feel steady, supportive, clear, or grounding. They don’t need to be perfect. Just something that helps you hold coherence.

🌀 Spirals

Points that want to move.

These are things that feel stuck, reactive, unclear, or repeating. They aren’t problems, they are places where movement is asking to happen.

Add a star or spiral above, then drag it into position

Step 3: Categorize the Points

Each point can be understood through:

– Energy (fuel for movement)
– Signal (information, cause)
– Balance (movement itself is chaotic, stagnant or balanced)

Add points in the constellation map above — they’ll appear here to categorize.

Prompt: Patterns form through relationships between points. Looking at your constellation:

– Which of these points feel connected?
– What influences what?
– What triggers what?
– What seems to move together?
– What seems to be driving the pattern?
– What stands out?
– Where is most of the tension?
